What's all this?
This is my personal web domain, VORG. I've owned this space since 2001, and it has been generously hosted and well cared for by Josh Omni.
I fiddle around with code every once in a while and upgrade it. This version, aproximately version 18, is called "breathe". I used Hawksmont brushes to make the logo and the rest I built myself.
Who are you?
My name is Sara Beth Brooks. I'm an activist, an artist, a traveler, a friend. I'm a daughter, a sister, an aunt [to-be]. I was born in the great Rocky Mountains, learned to read south of the Mason-Dixon line, was educated in the central valley of California, escaped to the rainforest of the Pacific Northwest, almost got married in a casino town, and then retreated to the beach to find myself and my communities.
Why do you do this?
The internet was the first real community that I felt a part of. I grew up on the internet; I had an AOL Blackberry Creek name, played on BBS & newsgroups, met people because they sent a message to the wrong ICQ number, completed high school courses, signed up for live journal, persuaded my mom to take me to meet internet friends when internet friends were fringe, went to business school, fundraised, worked on political campaigns, met my best friends, tweeted before it was cool, and organized amazing protests online. VORG is my own creative contribution to a place that has, collectively, given me all of this.
Also, I like playing with the code every once in a while.
